Tuesday,
October 13th: Valencia 826 field trip. I've been trying to book a
field trip to this place for the past five years and
finally got in! We will be attending a storytelling and
bookmaking workshop in the city from 10:00 - 12:00 and then
enjoying lunch at a nearby park. At least 6 parents/drivers
are needed. Check out http://www.826valencia.org/ for more
information.
Friday,
October 23rd: Picture Day
Friday, October 31st: Halloween. It will be a minimum day! The
parade will be immediately after lunch and will be followed
by classroom parties.
Friday,
November 6th: 32nd Annual Thanksgiving
Feast! This
is an all-day event up at Roberts Park. For those of you
who have yet to experience this incredible event, you don't
want to miss it! Plan to take the day off! All students and
parents become Wampanoag Native Americans and Pilgrims. The
students play games, make crafts, and help cook everything
from lobster to venison out under the trees. Be sure to
sign up for volunteer stations at Back-to-School Night. Be
sure to check out the "great link" to the feast video
created by an Oakland Tribune reporter!
